Our History

Our journey with macadamias began in 2015, when we started processing nuts to supply our family confectionery business, Wedgewood Nougat (www.wedgewoodnougat.co.za). What began with just a single one-ton delivery of nut-in-shell soon grew into a passion and a business of its own.

As the global macadamia industry expanded, so did we. Drawing on our roots in confectionery, we focused on creating high-quality “confectionery grade” macadamias, while leaving the large-scale “A-Grade” market to the bigger processors.

Today, that early spark has evolved into Macavation, a stand-alone business with over 25 years of family heritage behind it, dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and unlocking the full potential of the magnificent macadamia nut.

At Macavation, our vision is to be the most innovative company in the macadamia industry, creating value for growers, customers, and communities while always putting the needs of our planet above profit.

We believe business should be a force for good. That’s why we are proud to be 100% plastic neutral and are working towardsgiving back 1% of our turnover to causes that make the world a better place. Our passion comes from knowing that every step forward for us can also be a step forward for people and the planet.
